    To Wilma’s family,

We were saddened to read of Wilma’s passing in the Kansas City Star. I assisted her in the Sunday morning nursery many times when our family were members of Overland Park Christian Church from 1994 to 2003. I will always remember how much she enjoyed caring for the little ones of the church. We will keep you all in our prayers in the days, weeks, and months to come.

I vividly remember sewing with Aunt Wilma on an old foot pedal machine at granddad Miller’s farmhouse. Wilma, Teresa, and Alan would visit Leonard and Abby in Manhattan and we would all go to the drive-in movies. In Kansas City we walked around Aunt Wilma’s yard with Lisa and Kent. We watched Kent do some fancy bicycle jumps. There are fond recent memories of meeting Aunt Wilma in KC for lunch and lively conversation. She would show us photos of her travels on her iPhone. Aunt Wilma was energetic and perceptive. She will be missed.

  13. Jon & Jnell Rice and Family Says:

We were very surprised to hear of Aunt Wilma’s passing. I will always remember your family visits to Phillips County. Aunt Wilma always had a smile for everyone and let them know she was so happy to have them in her life. She made one feel as if it was “OK” to be yourself and better if you could smile, laugh, and have fun doing it. Our daughter (Jennilee) said she knew we were going to have fun when we got together with Aunt Wilma! We will all miss her!

  14. Nancy Phipps Says:

I am very sorry for your loss. We had a wonderful friendship and I always enjoyed visiting her while at Brookdale and then Silvercrest. We had so many wonderful memories and laughs. I will truly miss my dear friend.
