Warren Paul Rudd

Warren Paul Rudd went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2020. Warren was born on September 24, 1958 to Donald and Eunice Rudd in Geneva, Illinois.

Warren attended school at Geneva, IL., West Aurora High School, Aurora, IL and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, KS. He was a 1976 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He later graduated from Kansas Vocational Technical School with a degree in electronics.

Warren was currently a Sr. Engineering Technician for Honeywell FMNT for 27 years. Prior to that, he was the Chief Technician/Network Administrator at Dialysis, Inc. Warren was a member of Restoration Riders Christian Motorcycle Chapter, the Eastern Kansas Goldwing Tour Riders, and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Warren was a huge supporter of the City Union Mission Ride. One of Warren’s greatest accomplishments was participating in this ride every year for 25 years. This includes his 2020 participation virtually.

Warren had a special love for his family and loved spending time with them especially during the holidays. It was a favorite tradition of his to video the Christmas Visitor at Duane and Peggy’s house every year. Warren loved cooking and grilling, boating, motorcycling, RV trips or just fixing things around home. Wherever his travels led, he could always find the best food in town. Quite often, he would take his family back to share those places or bring back a remembrance. Warren also had a great love of music and was one of the few people that could tune the giant organ at the Kansas City Music Hall, where he sat on the Board of KCPTO, Kansas City Theatre Pipe Organ, Inc. He also was a talented percussionist and pianist, often filling in for the church band. Warren was an excellent marksman and made a point to always take his daughter Allison shooting on Wednesdays.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Clarence and Sylvia (Termansen) Rudd, Lambert and Augusta (Kleinstick) Pals and his father, Rev. Donald G. Rudd.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Cathy Rudd. He also is survived by his 2 daughters, Allison (Patrick) Rives and Amy (Jacob) Jenott; Mother, Eunice Rudd; Brothers, Duane (Peggy) Rudd and son, Luther and Alan Rudd and son, Andrew and daughter, Rachel; Aunts, Marge Schell and Marcella Pals; Mother in Law, Avis Johnson; Sister in Laws, Elaine Baysinger (Clyde), Debbie Schmidtberger (Joe), Jolene Lynn (Tom), and Sandy Pierce.


Funeral services will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS, 66203, on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Visitation will commence at 2:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM. Due to COVID, only 45 people will be allowed for the service and everyone is required to wear a mask. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

    Warren was a good friend. He attended our small group Bible Study for years. He and Cathy were married in our back yard, in Stanley, Ks.. They left on his motorcycle, yes she was in her wedding dress, quite a site. I have their picture on my wall of fame.

    Warren will be greatly missed. We always love being around him as he was always funny he kept us laughing it was all good natured. He’s mine worked in a unique way always fast on his feet with a reply to things. Missing you ❤️❤️

    I was very shocked when I got the news about Warren on Saturday. He was a bright and very talented guy, with a great big smile! I worked with Warren off and on during his career at Honeywell. We would always visit about his music and life on 2 wheels, not always in that order. He will be missed by all.

    I have gone to church with Warren for twenty years or so. I loved being around him, he was such the punster! I will miss him dearly and I know he will be missed by all who know him too. Rest in peace, buddy.


    Even though I didn’t have the privilege of getting to know Warren well, I can testify that he was faithful in his Christian service. Many, many souls on the mission field are grateful for his giving. We are praying for Kathy in this time of parting.

    I met Warren and Cathy while riding motorcycles with the group for a short time. I’ve kept in touch through Facebook some and was so sad to hear of Warren’s passing. Just wanted to say I’m so so sorry. Such a nice guy and sweet couple. I loved his Facebook posts of his and their travels. May all the wonderful memories comfort you and your Family Cathy, as well as Friends in this difficult time and years ahead.

    Condolences to all Rudd family members. I first met Warren at Sunday school 6th grade and been friends ever since. I can remember the times they stayed at my house for the weekend went to the movies. Scared me in that old Volkswagen of mine and when I spent a week with him when I came back from California to Illinois. I will miss him.
