Virginia Rose Zipp

Virginia Rose Zipp, 86, Overland Park, KS, a longtime Shawnee resident, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park. She was born on November 1, 1933 to Robert and Emma (Steffen) Zipp in Eudora, Kansas.

Ginny graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School in 1952 and went on to work at First National Bank for many years, eventually retiring from Bank of America.                                        

Ginny was a favorite aunt and was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor and a happy go lucky attitude. She loved to joke and was a joy to be around.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Robert Zipp, Claude Zipp, Wilbur Zipp, George Zipp, Norman Zipp, Patricia Zipp Toozer, and Mildred Zipp,Brother in law, George Toozer (Patty) and sisters in law, Lois Zipp ( Robert), and Shirley Zipp (Claude).Survivors include her sisters in law, Nancy Zipp(Norman),   Joann Zipp(George) , and Virginia Zipp (Wilbur), and many nieces and nephews.

    I’m so sorry to hear of the death of Virginia. She was our neighbor on Halsey for 40 years or more. The last time I saw her, she and Mildred invited my mother and me into their house for a visit. It was such a nice visit, too. My sympathies to her family.

    I’m so sorry to read of Virginia’s death; I remember her so well from the time I lived on Halsey Street with the rest of the Lane family. She was a good neighbor. Rest in peace, Virginia.
