Ralph E. Rusher

Ralph Rusher, 94, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on April 23rd, 2019. He was born on August 17th, 1924 in Belva, OK to Elmer and Bessie Rusher. Ralph served in the United States Army during WWII and was a POW. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; sisters, Pauline Loftus and Ethel Chaney; and daughter-in-law, Ellen Rusher. He is survived by his brothers, Charlie and Warren; children, Mike Rusher and ReneƩ (Jim) Mason; grandchildren, Matt (Kellie) Rusher, Kate (Benji) King and Jonathan (Gayle) Mason; and four great-grandchildren.


A visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203 on Thursday, April 25th from 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W 75th St, Shawnee, KS 66216 on Friday, April 26th at 11:00 AM. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to the Kansas City VA Medical Center, 4801 Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64128.

    I’m saddened to read Ralph’s obituary . I consider myself fortunate to have been on the receiving end of some of his life’s stories . Ralph was a great example of what we call our greatest generation !
