Patricia Maria Garvin DeBolt

Patricia Garvin DeBolt, 54, passed away suddenly in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening, October 7, 2020.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 17, 1965, she was the daughter of Cleve Patrick Garvin and Elisa A. Garvin.

A motorcycling enthusiast, Patricia enjoyed long rides with her friends and volunteering to raise money for those in need.  She embraced the motorcycle community wholeheartedly.

Her always infectious smile and live life to the fullest attitude will survive in the memories of her dear friends and family.  Patricia was a loving mother to Justin, Ashleigh and Lauren and loved to take care of and spoil her grandchildren Jaiden and Mason.  Her enthusiasm and love of people was a great asset in her early career as a pastry chef at PB&J Restaurants, as a broker with Osage Marketing, as a Marketing Associate at Sysco Food, and as a Sales Associate for eyewear first with Aspex Eyewear and finally with The McGee Group.

Patricia loved everyone she knew but was not afraid to tell it like it is.  She lived in the moment and passed away doing what she loved to do. She was extremely passionate and involved in the Kansas City English Bulldog Rescue and fostered her own bulldog named Ruby.

Patricia will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by her three children: Justin Ryan Nelson (36), Ashleigh N. Nelson (34) and Lauren R. Nelson (32); her grandchildren Mason and Jaiden; her mother Elisa A. Garvin; her stepmother Helen B. Neal; her brothers Gregory M. Garvin (Elizabeth), Sean C. Garvin (Lisha), Matthew R. Garvin (Jacqueline) and stepsister Jennifer Zabetakis.

Dear Patti, I didn’t know you but you were well known and greatly loved by so many people. Our paths only crossed where yours came to an end. I am thankful that In such a tragic moment, myself and so many others came together to take care of one of our own. I don’t know if you could hear me but I pray that if you could, my words, my voice were of some comfort. I told you, “we’ve got you”, and now He has you. To the family, I can’t imagine what you are all going through but you are in my prayers every day. Hold on to one another for strength and to the happy memories to find a smile when it’s hurts too much to cry.
I’ll be wearing a red bandana on my bike for a while on in honor of Patti. God Bless you all.

My Dear Sweet Peppermint Patty! From the first time we met, and you shook my hand we were the best of friends. From dinner dates, First Friday Adventures or just having a beer and a shot of fireball we always had a great time together. Its hard to believe that I will never hear your voice again, the hours of phone calls, the text messages.

You are now riding your Harley on the Golden streets of heaven.

    I Love You Peppermint Patty!

I will keep all of Patty’s family in my prayers.

  6. Ronda Lackey Says:

Deepest condolences to Patty’s loved ones. She was a shining light who came into our lives in Wichita several years ago. Patty would stay with us at least a night during the week while traveling to eye doctor offices. She shared our love of riding and we enjoyed getting together in Eureka Springs for BBB. Patty always filled me in on the lives of her kids and her beloved grandkids. She deeply loved her family. Patty was one of those friends you could count on to tell it like it is. She was a spiritual woman who trusted in God and was never afraid as far as I could tell. I’m comforted to know she had a caring soul beside her as she was crossing over. God bless and comfort Patty’s family and fellow riders. We know she earned her wings.
