Vanoma Henchek, 87, passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2023.
Vanoma was born in Argentine, Kansas on March 12, 1935, in her parents’ home. She was the youngest child of Wesley Vann and Naomi Hughes and had one brother 13 years older named Wesley. She was married to Raymond Henchek in 1957 and had 2 children; Vincent and Bruce Henchek. In 1982, Vanoma widowed and began building on her family business of rentals, Minrock Village. She would slowly purchase trailers and homes in Argentine, Kansas for rentals and began building what she called, “The Empire.” She would always she was a "Landlord" when asked her profession. Her work was her pride and passion. She enjoyed many women business associations and would travel to conventions with her friends.
Vanoma is survived by her 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 am, with a funeral service beginning at 10 am, both at the Amos Family Funeral Home on Monday, January 23, 2023. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas following the service.
