Pushpa Negandhi

February 16, 1941 ~ September 3, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old


Pushpa J. Negandhi passed away on September 3, 2023, in Shawnee, Kansas. Pushpa was born on February 16, 1941, in Mumbai, India. She grew up in India and earned her Master's degree in Education, and a Master's degree in Sanskrit and Gujarati from SNDT Women's University in India. Pushpa married Jayraj Negandhi on July 6, 1965. They lived in Mumbai, India, where Pushpa worked as an educator. In 1987, they moved to Shawnee, Kansas, where she worked for Thermo-Fisher Scientific.

Pushpa is preceded in death by her parents, Gordhandas and Gunvanti Sampat, as well as three brothers, Surendra, Hansraj, and Jaysingh Sampat. She is survived by her husband, Jayraj Negandhi of Shawnee, KS; her daughter, Heena Shah and her husband Pankaj; her son, Vipul Negandhi; and her daughter, Nikita Ghose and her husband Tapas. She is also survived by sister, Nalini Anjaria; sister, Nirmala Shah and her husband Deepak; brother, Krish Sampat and his wife Neha; sister, Bharati Ved and her husband Ashwin; brother, Pravin Sampat and his wife Anjana; sister, Harsha Ved, and her husband Nalin; and sister-in-laws, Rajni Sampat and Hema Sampat. Additionally, Pushpa is loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Mrunal and Ekta Shah of Ohio, and Ayan and Arya Ghose of Kansas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will forever be remembered as a nurturing wife, mother, and sibling, whose strong willpower served as the anchor of the family for many decades. Her positive outlook and devotion to others will always be remembered as her most endearing qualities.
