Norma Lee McNay Dukstein, 92, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully in her home on August 2, 2023 with her youngest daughter by her side. Norma was born in the small town of Waynesburg, PA, about an hour southwest of Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Waynesburg High School and received her nursing degree from The Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA.
Norma was predeceased by her husband Dr. Walter G. Dukstein. She is survived by her four children: Karl H. Dukstein (Joan Clinefelter) of Greeley CO; Gregory E. Dukstein (Diane) of Oviedo, FL; Amy D. Adams (Bill) of Lawrence, KS; and Rebecca Dukstein of Shawnee, KS. In addition, she has four granddaughters: Lexi Adams, Brianna Adams, Alison Dukstein, and Claire Dukstein.
Among her siblings, Norma is survived by two brothers and two sisters: William R. McNay, Sally J. Beaham, Patricia J. Nicklas, and John C. McNay. She was predeceased by five siblings: Marguerite M. Wilson, James S. McNay; Mary Jo Burkhead; Lucille Gray; and Robert E. McNay.
Norma loved to travel, spend time with her family, and volunteer. Norma was a beautiful and kind soul. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her wit and wisdom along with her calm and peaceful demeanor will be greatly missed by all those who met her, befriended her, and loved her.
