Obituary

David “Nick” Burke, 78, of Shawnee, KS passed away on March 12th, 2023.  He was born in Kansas City, KS on May 13th, 1944 to Earl and Mildred Burke.  A visitation will take place on Friday, March 17th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow starting at 1:00 pm.  

Nick was a lifelong Johnson County resident and graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1962.  Following high school, he followed his father’s footsteps in home building and property management.  Nick worked for Rebuilding Together and was on several committees representing the Shawnee community.  

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mildred Burke; brother, Ron Burke; and grandson, Jeffrey Wallace.  He is survived by his three children, Melisse Denham, Anthony Burke and Eric Burke; grandchildren, Brittney Prock, Stevie Born, Makenzie Denham, Marcellus Denham, Alex Burke and Isaac Denham; great-grandchildren, Danika & Brinley Prock; and sister, Barbara (Bill) Shadwick.
