Reverend Michael Jerald Hruby, known as Mike by his family and friends, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 7th, 1956 to Jerry and Lois Hruby. After graduation from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, he served in the United States Air Force. He attended the MidAmerica Nazarene University and was ordained as a minister in the Nazarene church.
Mike was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dawn Schreiner, in May 19th, 1984. Together Mike and Dawn faithfully served the Lord in many capacities in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. He was an active member of the Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene.
Mike was a very kind and caring person, always ready to listen, and he engaged wisdom with his many friends everywhere. He loved keeping in touch with his niece and nephew and especially enjoyed the "greats".
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dawn Hruby, and brother, Ron Hruby.
Those left to cherish his memory and his family include brother, Denny Hruby (Linda); niece, Elizabeth York (Eric); nephew, Rob Hruby (Sadie); great nieces and nephews, Joshua, Emmet, Sam, Solomon, and Naomi, and many more friends.
We rejoice Mike and Dawn being together again with their Savior.
A visitation will be held from 9:30am-10:30am on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene (6301 Nall Ave, Mission, KS 66202), followed by a service at 10:30am.
Contributions may be made in Mike’s honor to Kansas City Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center or to the Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene.
