Michael Heinisch Obituary

Michael P Heinisch suddenly and unexpectedly departed this life on May 31, 2022. He leaves behind many family members and friends who know that no one can replace him in their lives.

Mike was born in Guam on February 25, 1974, to Susan and Charlie Heinisch. The family eventually moved to Sayville, New York, and Mike still retained some of his New York accent which we Midwesterners loved to tease him about.  Of course, he’d promptly tell us that his way was the correct way to speak!  Being the middle child of three, Mike would often joke that the middle child always gets the blame, but perhaps childhood mischief was something he delighted in (as we are told by his siblings)!  After high school graduation, Mike proudly enlisted in the US Army serving both active duty and the Army Reserves. Serving his country was one of his most proud accomplishments.

In the late ‘90s Mike met and married Danielle Owen and they had three children who truly were the light of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed being a spectator at all of their sporting events and school and church activities. Mike would beam with pride when he attended the basketball games or gymnastics meets or cheerleading events of his children! He strived to always be there for them and did his best to teach them well and to be the best father possible.

Mike attended college at National American University and attained a Bachelor of Management degree. He worked in project management for TriMark Hockenbergs; working with many corporations, such as Advent Health and Q39, designing restaurant kitchens and dining rooms. He enjoyed his work and was a sought-after project manager for his clients. Most importantly, however, Mike was a genuinely good man, excellent father and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Our hearts are broken.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Susan Heinisch.  He is survived by his three children, Austin Michael Heinisch (23), Lucy Ann Heinisch (20) and Abigail Faye Heinisch (14). He is also survived by his brother Charlie Heinisch, Jr (Lisa) of Warner Robins, Georgia and sister Lisa Heinisch-Miller (Jonathan) of Bradenton, Florida, as well as nieces and nephews Andrew Heinisch, Chase Heinisch, Jack Heinisch, Susan Chenoweth, Wyatt Jibson and Reghan Miller. Mike is also survived by many extended family members and good friends.

If you would like to make a charitable contribution in Mike’s name, the family suggests Great Plains SPCA Pet Adoption Center in Merriam, KS. This is where Mike found his ever-faithful friend and companion, Sadie.
