Joyce Elaine (Halloran) Thies

Joyce Elaine Thies, 92, passed away at her home on September 10, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born to Daniel and Eva Halloran in Wood River, Illinois on October 22, 1929.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Laun Thies, Jr., and two brothers Daniel Halloran and Jack Halloran.

She is survived by her children John Laun (Debbie) Thies III, David Michael Thies, Ann Marie Roggenkamp, Timothy James (Pamela) Thies; grandchildren David Michael Thies, Jr., Kristina Marie Thies, Katherine Elaine Hunter, Courtney Marie Roggenkamp, Jacob John Thies, Amber Nicole Grey; great-grandchildren Draven, Piper, Eva, Vivien, Sadie, Kyle, Kaleb, Willow, Annabelle; brother Tom (Sara) Halloran and many friends and family who will miss her greatly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in the Old Stone Chapel, 9130 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS 66215.  Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am. Joyce will be laid to rest at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crossroads Hospice and Benton House of Lenexa. Joyce’s family wishes to extend a huge thank you to both Crossroads and Benton House who were both instrumental in the care of Joyce’s life.
