John Michael Krovatin (Jack), 69 of Overland Park, KS passed away on September 6, 2022 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission.
Jack was born in Plainfield, NJ on June 3, 1953 to J. William and Anna Elizabeth (Doherty) Krovatin. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1971. He worked at numerous employers until he found his calling as a chef at What’s Your Beef/Charlie Brown’s in Plainfield, and numerous other locations. He met his wife Cheri at What’s Your Beef in 1979 and they married on September 8, 1984. He then worked at Otis Spunkmeyer for 20 years and Best Buy for 11 years and had just retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1711 in Westfield, NJ.
Jack (Mr. A) had an uncanny knack for making friends with so many people and keeping that friendship throughout his lifetime. He loved to play golf, was an avid music lover and with that attended many concerts, most of all the Moody Blues. He also loved to attend sporting events, including the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Yankees and KU basketball!
Jack will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Cheryl (Williams) Krovatin and daughter Carey Lynn Krovatin of Overland Park, KS and his 5 brothers, Gerry of New York, NY, Jim (Mary) of Flemington NJ, Bill (Patti Schiripo) of Glen Ridge NJ, Dan of Ewing NJ, and Tom (Christine Brandenburg) of South Plainfield NJ and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J. William & Betty Krovatin.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church 501 New Market Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 10:30am. There will also be a Memorial Prayer service at the Amos Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 20th at 11:00 am.
