John Dennis "Jack" Coughlin

John Dennis “Jack” Coughlin, 92, Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at The Atriums of Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be 8-9:30 am Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Amos Family Funeral Home where a Rosary Recitation will be at 8:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am Tuesday at the Church of the Holy Cross Catholic Church; entombment in the Resurrection Mausoleum. Jack was born June 18, 1930 in Topeka, KS to Dennis Patrick and Aurelia (Meara) Coughlin. He was a 1949 graduate of Topeka High School and then enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951 and was honorable discharged in 1955. Jack then enrolled at Washburn University earning his bachelor’s degree in 1960. After graduation he went to work for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co, retiring in 1988.

While working at Panhandle Eastern, Jack met Pat, the love of his life. They were married at Conception Abby at Conception, MO on Nov. 15, 1969. They enjoyed traveling and loved many amateur and professional sports. Jack and Pat were faithful members of Church of the Holy Cross Parish.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Pat on Oct. 1, 2020. He is survived by his cousins, Ann E. Delaney, Balwin, MO, Richard M. (Mary Lou) Delaney, Hiawatha, KS, John (Yvonne) Meara, Jr., East Lansing, MI, Margaret F. Niles Ft. Scott, KS, Katherine Delaney, Chicago, IL, Daniel F. (Jo Ann) Meara, Kansas City, KS; and many nieces and nephews. Jack and Pat had loving, generous hearts, and a joyous marriage. We are filled with happy memories of this decent, loving faithful man. All will miss him, his relatives, his friends, his fellow residents, all the kind caregivers and staff at The Atriums. We all mourn him, but we are grateful for having known him.
