Janice Gayle Hoover, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 72. She was born on January 19, 1952, in Wheatland, Missouri.
Gayle, as she was affectionately known, had a fulfilling career at Johnson County Community College, where she dedicated her time in document services. Her dedication to work and her desire to help others made her an invaluable member of the community.
Outside of her professional life, Gayle cherished her family above all else. Her greatest joy came from spending time with loved ones, immersing herself in family activities, and creating lasting memories. She had a deep appreciation for family history and took great pleasure in tracing her roots and sharing stories with her relatives.
In addition to her love for family, Gayle was a devoted fan of the Kansas City sports teams. Whether it was cheering for the Royals on a sunny day at the ballpark or supporting the Chiefs during football season, she embraced the spirit of her city and brought enthusiasm to every game. She also loved to garden and travel with her family.
Gayle is preceded in death by her father, Gene Jordan, her brother, Tom Jordan, and her son, Brian Hoover. She leaves behind her loving husband, Bob Hoover, her son Scott Hoover and wife Tabi, her mother, Catherine Besser Jordan, her grandson Chase Hoover, and her daughter-in-law, Kat Hoover who will forever cherish the memories they shared together.
A memorial service to celebrate Gayle's life will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive in Shawnee on February 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During this time, family and friends will have the opportunity to come together, share stories, and pay their respects to a woman who touched the lives of many.
Janice Gayle Hoover will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
