Itsuko Selecman

Itsuko (Long) Selecman, 92, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2022.

Itsuko was born in Kumamoto City, Japan on March 12, 1930 to Kengro Shiozaki and Hide Shiozaki. Itsuko married Charles Long in 1957 and had a child, and the family moved to the US in 1959.

Itsuko became a US citizen and was very proud to take the oath. She was a very strong willed but happy woman who sacrificed much for her son, so that he and his family could have a better life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kengro and Hide Shiozaki, her 6 brothers and sisters, her husband Charles Long and second husband Reid Selecman. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Debbie Long; 3 grandchildren, Richard Long, Justin Long and Crystal Calovich; and a great granddaughter, Sydnie Calovich.
