Helen Esther Clevenger

Helen Esther Clevenger, 95, of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully at home at Santa Marta on July 31, 2022. She was born on September 30, 1926 in Union Star, MO to Austin and Elva Bashor. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Irvin Clevenger. A stay-at-home mom, she took care of her husband for 71 years and together they raised 4 children. She was an active participant in school PTA, willingly provided taxi and carpool services and school sack lunches. They enjoyed playing cards. They would play canasta with her sister and husband until the early hours of the morning. She played solitaire forever. She took pride in planning the annual family vacations. Active in her Sunday school class at Old Mission United Methodist Church and started the Protestant services at Santa Marta where they lived. After the kids had grown, she finally found her niche as a beauty consultant for Beauty for All Seasons. Helen and Irv could be found dancing to big band music. Helen loved watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights. Helen was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helen was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Irvin and son Michael. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Patrice) and Gregory (Rossella), a daughter, Deborah George, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2-3pm. Funeral service will follow visitation Saturday, August 6, at 3 pm, Amos Family Funeral Home.  Burial will be held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3 pm.
