Obituary

Bradley William Kilpatrick, 53, of Merriam, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, in his home. Brad was born to Scott and Linda Kilpatrick on March 21, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Brad was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing for practically anything that swims and hunting for morel mushrooms. He ran the KC Catfish Tournament Series for over a decade. He also loved football and cheered on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs every season, taking several road trips to see them play. He was lucky enough to have many family members and friends who loved him. He will be missed greatly.

Brad is survived by his wife, Melissa Kilpatrick, daughter Tayler Kilpatrick, stepdaughter Kiah McDaniel and her husband, Johnathan, stepson Zane Scheffler and his partner Graham Wills, mother and father, Linda and Scott Kilpatrick, sister Bridget Mertz and her husband Dennis, nephew Ethan Brewer and his fiancée Morgan, niece Samantha Brewer and great niece Ellianna, niece Morgan Brewer, as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration honoring Brad’s life will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023, at noon at the East Shelter of English Landing Park, 8701 McAfee St, Parkville, MO 64152. Feel free to wear your Chiefs’ gear and bring a lawn chair.
