Barbara Jean Sutterby

Barbara Jean Sutterby, 70, of Merriam, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13th, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 28th, 1951, the daughter of Loren and Ruby Fritts (Jacobs). She graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1969. Barbara and Allen “Doc” Sutterby were united in marriage on October 4th, 1969. They had three children, James (Deanna), Gary (Sarah), and Nicholas. Barbara was employed as a supervisor with Johnson County Library. Barbara enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. The family takes great comfort knowing Barbara knew Jesus as her personal savior. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Ruby Pointer, brother-in-law William “Pete” Pointer, and nephew Brandon Pointer. Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years, her children, 6 grandchildren (Jacob, Silas, Caeleb, Katelyn (Turner), Christian, Calvin,) and 5 great grand-children. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be at 10am, May 25th, 2022 at Nall Avenue Baptist Church, Prairie Village, Kansas.  A visitation will be held 5pm to 7pm, May 24th, 2022 at Amos Funeral Home, Shawnee, Kansas.
