Zachary Alexander Myers, 16, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away at Overland Park Regional Medical Center on December 2, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Zach is survived by his parents John W. and Kimberly A. Myers, a brother John W. Myers Jr. grandparents Johnny A. and Brenda E. Myers, Shawnee, Kansas; Ronald G. and Pamela S. Procter, Ocean Ridge, Florida; great grandmother Mary E. Robinson, Kansas City, Missouri; great grandmother Joann Proctor, Kansas City, Missouri; two uncles Jerry A. (Tanya K.) Myers, Lenexa, Kansas; Jeffrey S. (Lori) Proctor, Olathe, Kansas; Jennifer L. (Tim D.) Hager, Shawnee, Kansas; and many cousins and friends.
Zach had just joined the Olathe Northwest Wrestling Team, and he is a member of the Fire Explorer Program with the Olathe, Kansas Fire Department. Zach will be dearly missed by all who knew him and has never met a stranger. He was a well liked person with a caring heart whose wit and charm touched many lives. He had a dynamic personality. He was a caring and compassionate person, funny and always making people laugh. He was the kind of person that brightened up your day; he always campaigned for the underdog.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Zach Myers Memorial Firefighter Scholarship Fund at Capitol Federal Savings or may be left with the funeral home.
