William Stromer (Bill), 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on September 6, 2024 in Overland Park, KS. He was born on September 28, 1942 in Kansas City, MO and preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Pauline Stromer.
He grew up in Waldo, southside of Kansas City, MO as an only child. His Eagle Scout honor led to his favorite hobbies including gardening. He graduated with a Master’s Degree from Kansas State University and remained an active alum his entire life.
Bill leaves behind his spouse, Diane Stromer, married 54 years and two children, Michael Stromer and Amber Stromer-Shirey. Grandchildren include Sydney, Madeleine, Iris, Korbyn and Khiley.
He worked at the Health Department in Topeka, KS, then found his passion in Computer Program Designing. He was truly a pioneer in the modern technology we all enjoy now. He was a man of strength, wisdom and kindness. He was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear and words of comfort when we needed them most.
Bill worked to provide for his family and truly enjoyed life. But more than that, he instilled values that leave a legacy of integrity, ambition and compassion. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will forever live on in our heats. He was a great man and his memory will live on every day. His love, lessons, and legacy will continue to inspire. Rest in peace, Husband, Dad and Papa.
