William (Bill) R. Klasinski, 94, passed away at home on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Bill was born September 26, 1931, in Leavenworth, KS to William and Adelia Klasinski. Bill spent his childhood in Leavenworth, KS attending St. Joseph Grade School K-8th grade, Monastery of Mount Carmel Seminary School in Buffalo, NY for 2 years, returning home to Leavenworth to finish High School at Immaculata High. Bill earned his BSBA at Benedictine College, Atchison, KS. After college Bill entered into the Army during peace time for two years before returning back to Leavenworth. Bill met his love, Virginia Gail and they were married her on June 15, 1957.
Bill was affectionately called Billy Bob to family members. He loved to fish, play Bridge and Pinochle with family and friends. When it was not tax season, Bill would be out in his yard. He spent hours in the yard seeding, mowing, and trimming. The yard always looked beautiful. Bill, Virginia and the kids would take trips to Rose Lake in Minnesota for many years, with his parents, Sister, Margaret Ann and husband, Dusty fishing for Northern Pike, Bass and Crappie. Many hours would be spent on the lake and we kids would take turns fishing in Mom and Dad’s boat. The kids preferred their own boat, where fishing may have been a little more carefree. There were many family trips that bring back fond memories: Pine Lake in Iowa, Niagara Falls, Marco Island, Williamsburg, Washington DC to name a few. Family was important to Bill and Virginia as well as extended family. Bill loved to meet new people. He loved to tease others and then get a big grin on his face. His laugh was infectious. He loved listening to old time music from the Rat Pack to Classical artists.
Bill was a CPA who’s career entailed working for a couple of local and regional CPA firms before starting his own CPA firm in 1977. Bill worked another 20 years with Virginia as his secretary before selling his CPA practice.
Bill is survived by his children; Virginia “Ginny” (Raymond) Pfeifer, William (Joanne) Klasinski, Barbara Schwartz, Phyllis (Steve) Bardot, and Janet (Doug) Sprenger, ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sisters Margaret (Richard) Cook and Mary Upchurch. Bill was preceded in death, by his wife Virginia, parents Bill and Adelia Klasinski and Sister Joan White.
The family would like to express their love, gratitude and thanks to his excellent hospice team at Ascend Hospice: Kathy, Mahlet, Kaleb, Michelle, John and the many others workers as well as his wonderful caregivers: Emmanuel, Harriet and Anthony. These individuals were truly Dad’s guardian angels. Their love, compassion and kindness knew no bounds.
