Utona Lee Gillespie

Utona "Tona" Lee Gillespie, 74 of Basehor, KS, joined her husband Ray in Heaven on December 15th, 2020. Tona will be remembered as a devoted woman of God with an endless enthusiasm for life and love for her family. Born on October 16, 1946, Tona is preceded in death by her husband Ray; parents Beverly and Thomas Morris; and brother Tommy. She is survived by her children Devin and Angie; four grandchildren: Sara and Austin Gillespie and Lexi and Paige Brady; and three great grandchildren. Tona dedicated her life to bringing joy to others, whether it was through her career as a hair stylist, volunteering with her church, or tending to family and friends. Through her lively and outgoing spirit, she brought light to every room as she was truly a riot. On the rare occasion she took a break, she enjoyed pool time, walks with her dog around the lake, and lunch dates with friends after church. She will be remembered as a committed wife, a hard working mother, an actively involved nana/nani, and a true friend to many.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at Westside Family Church, located at 8500 Woodsonia Dr., Lenexa, KS 66227. A visitation will begin at 1:30pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Social distancing and proper Covid-19 protocol will be observed.
