Suzan Marie Klassen, born on February 15, 1954, in Halstead, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Merriam, Kansas, at the age of 72.
Suzan was a devoted homemaker who cherished spending time with her family and found immense joy in reading, writing, and basking in the beauty of nature and all of God's creation. Her life's journey was marked by her profound faith, which began when she accepted Christ as her Savior at Busy Bee Bible Camp in Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1965.
She graduated from Central Christian High School in 1972 and that summer met Rodney Allan Klassen, whom she married on June 14, 1974. Together, they embarked on a life filled with love and adventure, initially residing in Newton, Kansas, before relocating to Johnson County for new opportunities. Suzan's greatest joy was her family, and after adopting three children, she dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother and cherished Oma.
Her life was a testament to her love for Jesus and her unwavering commitment to her faith. She had a way of lighting up a room with grace, kindness, and compassion. Her attitude of gratefulness was consistently displayed through her years of journaling.
Suzan is lovingly remembered by her husband, Rodney Klassen; her son, Michael Klassen and his wife Lizzie; her daughter, Kayla Klassen; and her cherished grandchildren, Karson, Henry, JoJo, and Ingrid. She is also survived by her brothers, Carl Epp and his wife Jean, and Gary Epp and his wife Jan. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Josh Klassen.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6th, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Shawnee Bible Church, located at 12921 W 61st St, Shawnee, Kansas 66216. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 am.
