Susan K. Schmelitz, 70, of Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Sweetlife at Rosehill.
Susan was born May 16, 1944 to the late Richard and Rose Peake in Northbrook, Illinois. On September 28, 1963 Susan married Anthony F. Schmelitz. Susan loved working crossword puzzles, and enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony on April 21, 1990; two sisters, Patricia Harden and husband Marvin; Maryanne Fraser.
Susan is survived by her two children; Kim Lugo and husband Robert; Anthony D. Schmelitz and wife Lucia Merlo; and her favorite grandson, Gabriel Lugo, 6 nieces, 5 nephews and many friends.
Graveside Services
A Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue Kansas City, MO 64105.
