Sophie Walaszek, 91, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 15,, 2012. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 22, 1921. She was married to Dr. Edward Walaszek for 54 years.
Sophie is survived by her son Ed (Kaylene); daughter Sheila; and grandsons Alex and Kevin.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Monday, Octoaber 22, 2012, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
