With heavy hearts but inspired spirits, we remember Scott Jacob Van Kuiken, who passed away at the age of 36 in Kansas, where his journey both began and ended. Scott was a man whose life was filled with passion, adventure, and love for his family.

Born on January 15, 1990, Scott grew up in the heartland, where he developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. His career as a Safety and Training Manager at QIC Corp and FedEx demonstrated his dedication and commitment to creating a safer and more informed workplace for all. His colleagues will remember him not only for his expertise but for his unwavering kindness and willingness to help others grow.

Outside of work, Scott embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was an avid cheese lover, which he passed along to his children. He found solace and thrill in hiking, often taking to trails with his family, teaching his children the beauty of nature. His love for Pokémon and gaming provided him with joy and a way to connect with friends and family alike, fostering bonds that transcended generations. Scott loved bowling and showing off his trick moves while hitting every pin.

Above all, Scott's greatest joy came from his family. He cherished every moment spent playing with his children, Aurora and Rowan, guiding them with patience and an abundance of love. As a devoted husband to Rebecca, Scott was her partner in every sense, offering steadfast support and affection.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Orme and Francis Van Kuiken, grandfathers Roy Orme and Ralph Van Kuiken who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. He leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his memory: his loving wife, Rebecca; his precious children, Aurora and Rowan; his parents, Kathy and Gary; his brothers, Brian, Eric, and Kurt; sister in laws Sarah Van Kuiken and Janie Van Kuiken; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Each of them carries a piece of Scott’s spirit, ensuring that his legacy of kindness, humor, and enthusiasm lives on.

Though Scott's time with us was far too short, his impact was profound. His life reminds us to embrace our passions, cherish our loved ones, and approach each day with a heart full of gratitude. His memory will inspire all who knew him to live with the same generosity and zest for life that Scott embodied every day.
