Sarah J. Walenta, 62, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at her home.
Sarah was born December 21, 1946 in Quapaw, Oklahoma. She was a teacher in the Kansas City, Kansas Unified School District 500 for over twenty years. Sarah was a member of the Legacy Christian Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Danny Walenta, of the home; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth and husband SSGT Andrew Evans, Oceanside, California, two grandchildren, George and Danielle, and a sister in-law, Danna Parsloe, Prairie Village, Kansas. A sister, Mary Black preceded her in death.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Legacy Christian Church (10150 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66212). Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be Monday, February 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
