Sara Jane Culmsee, 88, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away at her daughter’s home peacefully on October 22, 2022.  She was born on May 13, 1934 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Curtis Franklin and Evelyn Lillian (Larson) Snyder.

Art was a passion of hers, and she could often be talked into an outing if a museum was in order.

Jane was married for 59 years to Carroll Leslie (Chuck) Culmsee. Together they raised a beautiful family full of God, tradition, and love. She is proceeded in death by their infant daughter, Carol Leslie, her mother, her father, and her sister (Sue Snyder Hardsaw).

Survivors include her husband Carroll L. (Chuck) Culmsee, daughter Lisa Blankenship and husband Larry, daughter Gwendolyn (Wendy) Basham and husband Doug, son Christopher Culmsee and wife Leslie, and daughter in spirit Lisa (Weis) VanLerberg and husband Andrew. Grandchildren Joshua Gray and wife Amanda, Sara Gray, Emily Keffer and husband Scott, Annie Basham and fiancé Jeffrey Martin, Nicholas Blankenship, and Spencer Blankenship. Great-grandchildren Linda Jane Gray, Theodore Keffer, and Lawrence Keffer.

Sara Jane was a creative, caring, giving, loving woman/wife/mother/grandmother/friend. Her sign off with every conversation was, “I love you very much,” and she did.

We love you very much, too!
