Royce Vernon Lawson

Royce Vernon Lawson, 83, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on Jan. 12, 2023 at Brookdale Shawnee. He was born on April 20, 1939, in Meade, KS, to Vernon and Wynona Lawson.

Royce is preceded in death by his brothers, Alan Lawson, and Charles “Chuck” Lawson.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kay L (Roberts) Lawson; children, Scott (Laura) Lawson, Mark (Paula) Lawson, Todd (Stephanie) Lawson; grandchildren, Matthew Lawson, Sierra Lawson, Jacob Lawson, Alex Ekins, Mary Katherine Ekins; brother, Jerry Lawson; sister-in-law Karen Miller.

He grew up in Plains, KS, graduted from Hutchinson Junior College where he played basketball and met his wife, and graduated from Wichita University. Royce loved spending time with his grandchildren, baseball (especially the KC Royals), and playing golf.  He worked for Arthur Anderson, Whitaker Cable, QO Chemical, K&Company, along with many other consulting jobs.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Milburn Country Club on Friday, April 21, 2023, starting at 11 a.m.
