Roxanna "Roxie" R. Twaddell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 70. She was born on October 14, 1954, at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Roxie was raised and grew up in Dixon, Missouri, and spent her adult life in the Kansas City area. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Roxie was preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Roy Mensing, whose memories she cherished dearly. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Twaddell; her loving children, Elizabeth Seelig, Scott M. Twaddell, and Benjamin (Jamie) Twaddell; and her adored grandchildren, Delia Twaddell, Madeline Seelig, Trenton Twaddell, Xander Twaddell, Owen Twaddell, Isaiah Twaddell, and Anna Twaddell. Also left to treasure Roxie's memory are her siblings, Joseph Mensing, John Mensing, Lori O'Neal, and Daniel Mensing, as well as her best friend, Retha Wright, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roxie's life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and her numerous passions. She worked as a bookkeeper at Benton Tax & Accounting for several years, where her candy bowl and commitment were valued by all who worked with her. Her interests were as vibrant as she was—she found joy in quilting, reading, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She delighted in playing cards and games, embarking on camping trips and adventures, exploring antique shops, and even braving roller coasters when encouraged to do so. Her road trips and lake excursions were legendary among family and friends.
A devoted member of her community, Roxie enthusiastically participated in Quilt Shop Hops and was a proud 4H member in her youth. Above all, she embraced her roles as a loving wife, nurturing mother, and doting "Mimi" to her grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Roxie's life will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, located at 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 13th, from 6-8 pm, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, August 14th, at 10:00 AM, also at Amos Family Funeral Home. Roxie will be laid to rest at Mt.
