Robert V. Shipps

Robert V. Shipps, 84, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center.

Robert was born October 31, 1925 in Powersville, Missouri, to Gilford E. and Nora A. (Wooderson) Shipps. He was a 1954 graduate of Carrollton High School, Carrollton, Missouri. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Robert was a produce manager for many years working at Mission Highlands and Safeway. He was a longtime member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and son, Robert L. Shipps. Survivors include his wife, Naomi K (McMullen) Shipps; daughter, Paula A. and husband, Jay Jones, Kansas City, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Lois Shipps, Aurora, Colorado; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas or Hospice Care of Kansas, 15329 W. 95th Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66219.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, Missouri.
