Bob, beloved husband, father, grandfather, pharmacist, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Born in 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, Bob was raised in Independence, Missouri, alongside his older sister by his devoted parents. From an early age, he possessed a strong sense of responsibility, compassion, and curiosity that would guide him throughout his life.
After graduating from high school, Bob attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Park University before answering a higher calling to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a hospital corpman. His time in the Navy reflected the qualities that defined him throughout his life: selflessness, dedication, and a deep commitment to caring for others.
Following his military service, Bob attended the University of Wyoming, where he earned his degree in Pharmacy. He began a distinguished career as a pharmacist at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, where he was known for his professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern for those he served. It was there that he met the love of his life, Jean.
Bob and Jean were married in 1985 and built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love. Together, they raised four children: three sons and a daughter. Although his daughter preceded him in death, the love he had for each of his children remained a constant source of pride and joy throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, and his three sons, and his three cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness and pride. His legacy of integrity, compassion, and quiet strength lives on through them and the many lives he touched.
Family was always at the heart of Bob’s life. He rarely missed a sporting event, Scout meeting, campout, or milestone in his children’s lives. Whether cheering from the sidelines, helping with a project, or simply being present when needed, Bob demonstrated his love through his steadfast support and involvement.
Bob also had a passion for travel and especially enjoyed planning trips and adventures for his family. He found great joy in exploring new places and creating memories with those he loved most.
Those who knew Bob will remember him not as the loudest voice in the room, but often as the wisest. He never felt the need to say a lot because he listened so well. His attentiveness, thoughtfulness, and quiet confidence made others feel valued and heard. Coupled with a sharp sense of humor and a warm smile, Bob had a gift for putting people at ease and bringing laughter to everyday moments.
Bob's life was defined by service, humility, and love. He touched countless lives through his work, his friendship, and his devotion to family. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he led by example through quiet kindness, unwavering support, and genuine care for others. Though he will be deeply missed, his example and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
