Ricki Dean Jordan, affectionately known as Rick, Ricki D, or RJ, passed away peacefully at home with Pam, Carly, and Kate by his bedside on May 23, 2026, at the age of 67 in Shawnee, Kansas. Born on June 29, 1958, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Rick was a cherished husband, father, Papa, son, brother, and friend whose life was defined by his selfless service to others and his unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Rick attended Bonner Springs schools, where he excelled in numerous activities, including band, boys' choir, baseball, soccer, Boy Scouts, track, and cross country. His love for teamwork and competition fostered lifelong friendships and instilled a sense of camaraderie and community spirit that would define his career and personal pursuits.

Devoting over three decades of his life to emergency medical services, Rick served as a Paramedic with Johnson County Med-Act for 31 years. His commitment to helping those in need was further exemplified through his tenure as a Paramedic at Providence Medical Center ER, where he worked for an additional six years before retiring from the medical field. He was recognized for his outstanding contributions, earning accolades such as Firefighter of the Year and Rescue Person of the Year with the Shawnee Fire and Rescue Department on January 29, 1983, and a certificate of excellence in the Providence ER in January 2021.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick found joy in coaching his daughters in soccer, softball, and volleyball. An avid music lover, he often delighted friends and family with his singing. His adventurous spirit was evident in his passion for fishing, visiting Alaska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Canada to pursue this beloved pastime. A skilled pool player, Rick enjoyed numerous first-place finishes in the APA Pool League in the Kansas City area. Played in the APA World National Pool Championships in Las Vegas two times. Above all, he cherished attending his grandchildren's basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball games, basking in their achievements and nurturing their passions.

Rick is preceded in death by his father, Albert Dean Jordan; father-in-law, Wilbur C. Ballard, Sr.; mother-in-law, Donna Jean Ballard; and numerous aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pamela Jordan (Ballard); daughters Carly Smith (Jordan) and Katherine Willis (Jordan); son-in-law Chad Smith; cherished grandchildren Locke, Harper, Grace, Sawyer, and Beau; devoted mother, Elaine Jordan; brother Jeff Jordan; sister Susan Titus (Jordan), brother-in-law Jerry Titus, brother-in-law Will C. Ballard, Jr. sister-in-law Nancy Willis along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear.

A celebration of Rick's life will be held on June 28, 2026, from 12:00-3:00 pm at Old Shawnee Town, Town Hall, 11600 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203. A light lunch will be provided. Rick loved his Hawaiian shirts, Kahiki shorts, and the color red. Join the family in wearing his favorite attire. Come with stories to share and memories to cherish as we reflect on Rick's life well lived and a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the lives he touched.

Rick will be remembered for his gentle heart, his unwavering support, and his ability to bring joy and warmth to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
