Pritam Kaur, lovingly known as Bibi, 93, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will miss her dearly.
Pritam was born in 1933 in present-day Pakistan. In 1947, she married Naranjan Singh and resettled to Naura in the Nawanshahr area of Punjab, India. From there, she and her children migrated to Kansas City in 1985 and have resided here since.
To know Bibi was to know someone who loved deeply and gave generously. She spent her lifetime as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the heart of her family. She dedicated herself to a lifetime of service, whether it be for her family or for community members.
Bibi found happiness in the simple things: cooking meals, spending time with family, and sharing memories. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved most. Her greatest joy was her family.
Bibi had a way of making people feel cared for and at home, no matter where she was. She taught her family the importance of love, faith, and perseverance, not only through her words but through the way she lived her life. Even in her final days, Bibi was most concerned about those around her. Constantly making sure everyone was fed and comfortable.
She is survived by her husband, Naranjan Singh, her 6 children: Darshan Kaur, Charan Kaur, Kuldip Kaur, Nasib Kaur, Harbans Singh and Amarjit Singh, her sister: Mahinder Kaur, and her brothers: Piara Singh and Puran Singh. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Although her absence will be deeply felt, her family will carry her memory forward in the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
Bibi will be deeply missed and forever loved.
