In loving memory of Mitchell Alexander Jinks, affectionately known as Mitch, taken from us too soon on May 12, 2026, at the youthful age of 31. Born on October 8, 1994, in Overland Park, Kansas, Mitch’s journey began and ended in his beloved hometown—a place he loved almost as much as his computer.

Mitch was a man of many talents, though not all of them glitzy enough to make headlines. He found his calling as the night manager at QuikTrip, where he could always be relied upon for a midnight snack and a friendly smile. Despite the odd hours, Mitch managed to light up every room he entered with his warmth and humor, whether it was a late-night shift or a family gathering.

What truly defined Mitch, beyond his work and the high scores on his favorite games, was his unwavering love for his family and friends. If there was an event, Mitch was there, making sure everyone was having a good time. His loyalty was unmatched, and his absence leaves an unfillable void.

Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bill Jinks and Jean Poitras, and his brother, Nicholas Jinks. Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted parents, Marlon Jinks and Renee Burkhart; his loving sisters, Brittani Killgo and Ashley Jinks; and his adoring grandmothers, Dolores Jinks-Webb (with Doug), Jo Ann Martin (and Robert), Jana Godfrey (alongside David), and his great-grandmother, Wilma Louvier. Mitch's girlfriend, Elissa Suarez, along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, are left with fond memories and a shared, profound sorrow.

A celebration of Mitch's life will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas with visitation starting at 11:30 am, followed by services at 1:30 pm. Processional and graveside service follows at Johnson County Memorial Gardens (Overland Park, Kansas) at 3:00 pm. We invite those who knew Mitch to come, share a story, and remember the life Mitchell lived so well.

In lieu of flowers, consider spending a little extra time with your loved ones or playing a game or two in his honor—because that's how Mitch would have wanted it.
