Milt Wroten

Milton "Milt" P. Wroten, born on January 22, 1933, in Corinth, Mississippi, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 20, 2025, in Lenexa, Kansas, at the age of 92.

Dedicated and hardworking, Milt served as a District Sales Manager for AAA Travel & Insurance Co. where he was respected and appreciated by both colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, Milt was an avid golfer and had a love for travel. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted church member, usher, and served his community with warmth and kindness.

Milt is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Katherine Wroten (nee Kennedy); father, Joseph Wroten Sr.; his mother, Lottie Wroten (née Woodruff); eight siblings; Miles Wilson, Effie Petty, Lottie Mae Wilson, Hilda Petty, Lassie Uhlemeyer, Peggy Thompson, Carrie Atteberry, and Harold Wroten; six stepsiblings; son, Steve Lavery; and one great-grandson.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his cherished wife, Leota Wroten (née Rake); daughter Pamela Proctor; sons David Wroten and Alan Lavery; daughter Julie Morstorf and her husband Tim; a sister, Lea James; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and adored nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Family, friends, and those whose lives Milt touched are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Lenexa Baptist Church in Lenexa, Kansas. Milt will be buried at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas on Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Donations in honor of Milt may be made to the Lenexa Baptist Church Missions Scholarship Fund.

Milt will be fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed.
