Michael J. Twaddell, a beloved father, grandad, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 23, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on July 24, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to those he cherished.

Michael was known for his hard work and commitment throughout his career, retiring as a warehouse manager from Kleen-Rite. Prior to that, he dedicated over two decades to Creative Candles in a similar role, where fate brought him together with his beloved wife, Roxie. Together, they built a life centered around their shared passions, especially their treasured dogs.

A devoted fan of soccer, Michael's enthusiasm for the game was evident in his support for Manchester United and as a season ticket holder for the KC Comets. His youthful spirit was further demonstrated through his love for music—having played the trumpet and drums in a band during his early years—and his enjoyment of bike riding and swimming. Michael also took pleasure in the great outdoors, being an active member of the Last Domino Club, where he spent many memorable moments traveling and camping with friends and family. Michael and Roxie found great joy in their “Adventure Days” where you could find them taking countless day trips wherever their car would lead them.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Flavel and Betty Jo Twaddell; his cherished wife, Roxie Twaddell; and their beloved dogs, Julio, Gino, Jake, and Sam. Left to honor and celebrate his legacy are his loving children, Scott M. Twaddell, Elizabeth Seelig, and Benjamin (Jamie) Twaddell. He will be dearly missed by his adored grandchildren, Delia Twaddell, Madeline Seelig, Trenton Twaddell, Xander Twaddell, Owen Twaddell, Isaiah Twaddell, and Anna Twaddell. His memory will be treasured by his siblings, Steve (Judy) Twaddell and Janet (Randy) Carter; nieces, Dara Robb and Jo Carol Carter; nephews, Jason Twaddell and Chris Twaddell; and his beloved dachshund, Giggs.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, March 30th, from 6 to 8 PM at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, March 31st, at 10:00 AM at the same location. Michael will be laid to rest at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael's name may be made to Wayside Waifs, reflecting his deep love and compassion for animals.

Michael J. Twaddell will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to family, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His legacy lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created with those who knew him.
