It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Ortiz II, lovingly known to many as "Daddoo". Born on November 24, 1993, in Kansas City, Michael left us far too soon on February 25, 2026, at the young age of 32.

Michael was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend who brought joy to everyone he met. His infectious smile and warm personality touched the lives of so many around him. A true sports enthusiast, Michael found immense joy in basketball and running. Whether he was on the court or the track, his passion for sports was evident and inspiring. He also enjoyed staying up-to-date with the latest gossip, or chisme as he would call it, earning the other nickname "lil' cheese". Michael was always eager to share a laugh and a story with those around him.

Professionally, Michael worked in sales and construction, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He approached each day with enthusiasm and a desire to make a positive impact, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ermerlinda Espinosa; maternal grandfather, John Villegas; paternal grandfather, Paul Ortiz; paternal grandmother, Theresa Ortiz; and maternal great-grandmother, Elvira Valdivia. Their love and guidance shaped him into the wonderful man he became.

He is survived by his loving parents, Marilyn and Mike, who cherished every moment with their son; his dear sister Shrilon (Patrick), with whom he had an unbreakable and everlasting bond. Also, countless other family members and friends who will forever miss his irreplaceable smile.

Services to honor Michael's life will be held on March 7, 2026, at Guardian Angels. A viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

As we remember Michael, let us celebrate the light he brought into this world, the love he shared, and the memories that will continue to inspire us all. We know you are having a blast in heaven, dear Daddoo. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
