Melvin L. Bareiss, 79, passed away January 31, 2014, at Bickford of Overland Park.

Melvin was born February 17, 1934, in Netawaka, Kansas, to Percy and Ella Bareiss. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1955 with an Industrial Engineering Degree. He spent his career with TWA and farmed the family farm in Jackson County Kansas. He was very passionate about his family and his farming heritage.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Bareiss; daughters, Sheri (Dan) Butler and Laura (Ernest) Richards; son, Steve Bareiss; grandchildren, Elizabeth Orcutt, Hugh Christopher Butler, Andrew Richards, and Evan Richard; and great- grandchild, Lydia Faith Orcutt. Melvin was preceded in death by his son, David L. Bareiss.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at St. Andrews Christian Church, 13890 W. 127 Street Olathe, Kansas 66062.
