Melinda Louise Kavanaugh, 56, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, January 15 at her home. Melinda was born March 31, 1959 in Kansas City, KS to the late Floyd W. and Dana Ann Hild. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1977 and attended the University of Kansas. She was an exceptional seamstress, and enjoyed making things for her friends and family. Melinda was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Paul W. Kavanaugh; Sion P. Kavanaugh; sisters, Susan Blankenship and husband David; Libby Doss and husband Ray; three grandchildren, Zoey, Sion, and Ethan; as well as two nieces, Carrie Doss, Melia Blankenship and two nephews, Brad and Michael Blankenship; and former husband Stephen Kavanaugh.
