Maxine P. Bruner

January 20, 1919 — March 31, 2016

Maxine Bruner, 97, died March 31, 2016. Born Jan. 20, 1919, in the U.S. to Irish missionaries, the Rev. John and Eleanor Patterson. Maxine lived in India from 9 months to 16 years of age. She attended Kodaikanal School, Palani Hills, South India.

She returned to the U.S. in 1935 and graduated from KU, where she met her husband of 57 years, Hugh H. Bruner. She lived in Prairie Village for 50 years serving as a committed volunteer for church and Scouts. She moved to Aberdeen Village, Olathe, in 2004.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband in 1998 and her daughter, Shirley Meyer in 1995. She is survived by children Nancy (Phil) Mohler, Grand Junction, Colo.; Peggy (David) Graham, Olathe; Sam (Diane) Bruner, Los Angeles; son-in-law Dennis (Julia) Meyer, Olathe; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2-3 pm Saturday, April 2nd, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the service immediately following. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
