Margaret M. Wilhelm, affectionately known as Peggy, took her final bow on August 24, 2026, at the age of 90. Peggy made her grand entrance on July 15, 1936, in Merriam, Kansas, and departed from Overland Park, Kansas, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and legendary homemade treats.
Peggy was the proud co-owner of Windtrax Inc., where she navigated the world of business with the same gusto she brought to a game of cards. Her passion for winning bingo was second only to her love for playing Joker, and she could often be found challenging family to Flip 7 and friends to Hand, Knee and Foot.
Peggy found joy in so many things, from needlepoint to boating. She enjoyed spending time on the golf course, catching catfish, and RVing across the country, making the most of every road trip. She never passed up an opportunity to attend a dinner, a party or social event. She was the Queen of the Fear of Missing Out.
Her culinary creations were nothing short of legendary. Whether it was her melt-in-your-mouth cookies, divine cinnamon rolls, or ice cream that brought you back for seconds, Peggy's kitchen was a place of comfort and joy. And in a pinch, she could whip up popcorn for dinner and snuggle up for a Hallmark original movie.
Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elva and Virgil Wisecup, siblings Ted Wisecup, Betty Steuer, and Vivian Garrett, her devoted husband Marvin Wilhelm, and her son Michael Wilhelm.
Peggy has a full house of family who will cherish her memory: daughters Michelle Sommerfeld (Gary), Patty Daniels (Brad); grandchildren Izzy, Abby, and Gabe Sommerfeld, Justin Daniels (Cindy), Cody, and Carter Daniels, Mackenzie Hustead (Brett); and great-grandchildren Parker and Ethan Daniels, Martin and Miles Hustead.
