Loretta Jeanette (Bullock) Stotts was born on February 2, 1935, to Walter and Ebba (Hansen) Bullock, arriving at their family home two weeks early in the midst of a snowstorm. A graduate of Lincoln High School, she soon began working at the Port Huron Machinery Company in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she met the love of her life, Darrel Stotts. The couple married on October 24, 1953. They had three children, Scott, Stacy and Sarah.
Despite the tragic losses she faced, Loretta pressed on, and never lost her fabulous, highly contagious laugh. A woman of deep faith, she dedicated many years to teaching Sunday School at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. Known for her remarkable memory, she was the keeper of family stories from generations past. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life: sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was especially proud of her vegetable garden and took immense delight in serving meals prepared with her own fresh harvest. Above all, she was the heart of her family, happiest when hosting gatherings that brought her loved ones together.
