Lois K. Cornell, 85, of Altamont, KS, died at 7:25 am Monday, August 22, 2022 at the hospice house. Lois was born December 27, 1936 in Altamont, KS. She was one of two daughters of Alford and Bernice Kessler. Her young life was spent on a farm near Altamont.  She graduated from Labette County Community High School.  She was very involved in drama, music,  pep club, lyre club, pep band, representative in state lions clubs band, president.

She went on to college at Pittsburgh University and met her husband Donald Eugene Cornell. They were married on January, 27 1957. She leaves behind 3 adult children Kathryn D Smith, her five children, Freddie K Keaton III (deceased), Joseph Keaton (Hayley), Karen Skaggs (Clint), Darien Smith (Lauren), and Tatiana Smith. Kelly J Kelso (Rick), with her two daughters, Autumn Robinett (Michael), and Lauren Kelso. Rachel L Garton (Dave) and her four children, Bryan Smith (Heather), Kerri Smith, Adam Holmes, and Kyle Garton. Great grandchildren, Freddie Keaton IV, Harrison Keaton, Adelaide Skaggs, Aurora Smith, Leslie Smith, Aiden Smith, Gavin Smith, and Meadow Smith.

Lois was an accomplished pianist and seamstress. She spent many hours crafting and creating, this includes crocheting, quilting, sewing, and any number of other fun projects with her kids and grandkids.
Her love of baking showed in everything she made, her bread was well known and loved by all. She spent many years in Brownies and Girl Scouts helping her daughters grow and learn.

She loved her family and her family loved her.  The world is a different place without her but she’s now in the loving arms of her Father Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald E Cornell, parents Alford and Bernice Kessler, sister Twila May, grandson Freddie K Keaton III.
