Kyle Richard Oddo, born on August 25, 1983, in Mission, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2025, at the age of 41. He left this world peacefully at his home in Overland Park, Kansas, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and an impressive ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
A graduate of Mid America Nazarene University, Kyle earned his BA in Marketing with a minor in Leadership in 2007. He then went on to conquer the Windy City, obtaining his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago in 2011. Kyle was a man who wore many hats, but none more proudly than that of Senior Project Manager at a construction company. He built not only structures but also relationships, always ensuring that every project—and every person—was managed with care and a touch of humor.
Kyle had a knack for finding joy in the simple things: the excitement of a well played round of golf, hitting the gym, diving into YouTube rabbit holes, and savoring good food—as long as it didn't involve cheese (a decision still up for debate). His beloved golden retriever, Jane, was his best friend. Whether cheering for KU, the Chiefs, or the Royals, Kyle's enthusiasm was infectious, even if his teams didn't always share his winning spirit.
Preceded in death by his mother, Julie Oddo, Grandpa Anthony Oddo, Grandma Marilyn Oddo, and Grandpa, Kenneth Battjes, Kyle leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory. Surviving him are his father, Richard Oddo, stepmother Lorri Oddo, sisters Kati Oddo, Kelcee Frederick (Nic Frederick), and Lexcee Oddo. His nephew Ford Frederick and niece Cleo Frederick will undoubtedly carry on his legacy of humor and heart.
A service to honor Kyle's life will be held at Amos Funeral Home- West Chapel, 10901 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS 66203, on Saturday, June 14th. Friends and family are invited to a visitation/viewing at 10:00, followed by a service at 11:00. In true Kyle fashion, attendees are encouraged to share their favorite stories and remember the man who was always the life of the party.
Kyle Richard Oddo may have left us too soon, but his legacy of warmth, wit, and unwavering friendliness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest easy alongside your mom and grandparents, Kyle—you’ve earned it.
