Kriss McCoy, born January 14, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in North Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 69.
Kriss dedicated his career to the industrial machinery industry, where he spent many years as a parts manager for Cummins diesel engines. His work brought him immense joy as he relished every moment spent in his field.
A man with a deep love for nature and craftsmanship, Kriss cherished the time he spent outdoors. Whether it was restoring antique cars, tending to his vegetable and flower gardens, or planting trees, he found serenity and satisfaction in keeping his hands busy. His passion for working with his hands extended beyond his professional life and became a defining aspect of his character.Kriss had a special place in his heart for dogs, and their companionship brought him great happiness throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Taylor McCoy; his parents, George and Gladys (Seamands) McCoy; and his brother, Rick McCoy.
Kriss is survived by his son, Jason McCoy. He also leaves behind his cousins, Gwen and her husband Ron Hoover, and Rita James; as well as his nephews, David Seamands and his wife Perri, and Jason Seamands.
Kriss's family and friends will remember him as a kind and industrious man whose presence will be sorely missed.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Kriss McCoy will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.May he rest in peace, surrounded by the natural beauty he loved so dearly.
