Kenneth Eugene Lindquist, of Olathe, KS, passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 64. Kenneth was born on February 18, 1961, in Kansas City, MO.
Ken had a love of learning and was an endless source of knowledge, especially when it came to history and politics. He earned a degree in Agriculture, a Master’s degree in American History, attended the Weather Forecasting School in the Air Force and also was a certified paralegal.
Kenneth proudly served his country as a full-time Guardsman in the Kansas Army National Guard and later in the Kansas Air National Guard. During his years with the U.S. Air Force, he was deployed multiple times to Kuwait and South America, serving as a weather forecaster and retiring as a Master Sergeant. Throughout his military career, he was honored with numerous medals and commendations for his dedication and exceptional service.
In addition to his military service, Kenneth held several roles in public service, including with the Kansas Highway Patrol/Capitol Police, the Johnson County Public Defender’s Office, and the Department of Agriculture. He retired from the USCIS-Department of Homeland Security.
Ken had a special place in his heart for animals—especially dogs. His love for dogs led him to rescue many over the years- always requesting ones that were hard to adopt out. He gave many a dog a pampered life in their old age.
Kenneth loved his country and lived this out through both his military and his civil service. He was a true patriot.
Ken will be remembered for his sharp mind, his unwavering service to his country and his kind heart. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, compassion and quiet strength.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, August Nathaniel Lindquist and Marie (Lindquist) Potter. He is survived by 6 siblings: Sherryl (Tom) Schultz, Pam (Rick) Pistorius, David (Marjean) Lindquist, Carol (John) Coffelt, John (Ginna) Lindquist, and Kimberly (Scott) Stanley. He is also remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Please check back for service times.
