Katherine Francis "KT" Meyer Crosby

Katherine Francis Meyer Crosby, also known at KT, was born September 1, 1938, in Atchison, Kansas, to Robert and Dora E. Kohler Meyer. Her school experience began in Atchison Kansas, until such time that she and her family moved to Rock Port, Missouri. She was a graduate of Rock Port High School. Following graduation Katherine attended Lindenwood College where she graduated with honors and continued her education at Peabody University with a Masters degree in the fine arts. She taught at Paseo High School in Kansas City for 5 years and then transitioned to Central Methodist College as head of the art department for several years. Katherine had a son, Aaron Kerfoot, and was married to Floyd Kerfoot. They made their home in Overland Park Kansas, where they resided until Floyd's death. Years later Katherine married Marvin Crosby, and they continued to live in the Overland Park area until such time as Marvin passed.

Katherine opened her business, KT Studio Gallery, in Merriam, Kansas in 1995. She continued to teach both music and art classes until the time of her passing. She was very active in her church and her community. She served as First and Second reader in her church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Merriam. Katherine's biggest loves in her life were God, her family, her friends and her church. She had a deep passion for art, music and photography. She was an avid sports fan and followed tennis closely. Katherine loved her time at Table Rock Lake and the water activities. She also enjoyed having a good debate. A close friend of hers is quoted as saying "She wasn't always right, but she was definite." She was loved by many. KT passed October 4, 2025

She is survived by her brother, Robert W. Meyer and wife Marcia of Kansas City, MO; brother, Donald E. Meyer and wife Sharon of Rock Port, MO; Maria Kerfoot, daughter-in-law, of Cape Fare, MO; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place at The Amos Family Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 (visitation) / 2:30 (service). 

KT will be laid to rest in Rock Port at the Elmwood Cemetery.
