Katherine "Kari" Michelle (Gray) Alejandre

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Katherine “Kari” Michelle (Gray) Alejandre, who left our loving arms on October 14, 2025, in Kansas City, KS, at the age of 47.

Kari was born on September 28, 1978, in Kansas City, MO, to Jan Cunningham and Mark Gray. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in May 1997.

Kari is survived by her loving husband, Adolfo, and their beloved children, Bella and Paolo. She also leaves behind her mother Jan and bonus dad Danny Cunningham of Pomme de Terre, MO; her father Mark Gray of Belton, MO; her brothers Duane (Leslie) Cunningham, Jeffery (Cori) Gray, and Brett Gray; many cherished nieces and nephews, two great-nieces, and her dear sister-in-law, Yola, with whom she shared a special bond.

Kari was truly one of the kindest souls anyone could meet—an incredibly patient and understanding wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her warmth and generosity made everyone feel at home in her presence.

She was like the first warm day after a long winter—radiant, comforting, and full of promise. Kari had a deep love for music and found joy in playing guitar and singing with those she loved. She nurtured life wherever she found it, whether in her family and friendships or in the plants and animals she cared for.

With her huge heart, playful sense of humor, and genuine spirit, Kari touched the lives of everyone she met. Her light will continue to shine in the many lives she impacted and the memories we hold dear.

She will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
